How Landlords Immediately Reject 95% of Applications (and how you can be among the remaining 5%)

We spent the whole day talking to professional landlords in Berlin! Out of every 100 messages they receive, 95 are immediately sorted out!

We asked them how they sort out the messages and which three tips you can use to be among the 5 that they consider!

Tip 1: It's an application! Make sure to tell them something about yourself and don't just ask whether you can view the flat. Landlords get overwhelmed with requests, and often they unfortunately won't bother to ask back questions. So, include all the necessary information about yourself in your initial message: Who are you? Why do you want to move? Do you have a stable income?

Tip 2: Signal your interest! Landlords heavily scan for a sign that you actually read the offer and want this particular flat. I know we're sending like a hundred messages per day, but really try to include a sentence or two.

Tip 3: Make it readable! The best content doesn't help if your message is full of spelling mistakes or otherwise hard to read. Try to format it nicely and error free.

Bonus tip: Landlords prefer German messages. I know that doesn't come natural to many, so consider use of a translator or the help of someone else if possible.
